INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX ENDS ABOVE 35000 FOR FIRST TIME, NIFTY UP 88 POINTS - 17 Jan 2018


Benchmark indices continued to hit fresh record highs on Wednesday ahead of corporate earnings and Union Budget.
The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 310.77 points at 35,081.82 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 88 points to 10,788.50, driven by banks and IT stocks.

The market breadth was balanced as about 1,451 shares advanced against 1,446 declining shares on the BSE.
