·Budget announces bank to fund small entrepreneurs
India will set up a bank to facilitate funding for the small entrepreneurs that make up the backbone of the country's economy, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in his budget speech on Saturday.
The MUDRA Bank will refinance microfinance institutions under a Prime Ministerial scheme, he said, allocating Rs200 billion ($3.24 billion) to the plan.

·India to cut corporate tax to 25% over 4 years
India will reduce tax on businesses to 25% over 4 years from a current 30%, with a view to boosting spending and job creation, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on Saturday, when presenting the government's full-year budget.

Live Market Updates: HPCL, BPCL down 1-2% on Budget day; Sensex, Nifty stable

Nifty Futures Tips

The Sensex is up 230.54 points or 0.8 percent at 29450.66 and the Nifty is up 61.90 points or 0.7 percent at 8906.50. About 1339 shares have advanced, 698 shares declined, and 165 shares are unchanged.

Oil marketing companies (OMCs) are under pressure. CLSA sees the Budget to be negative for refiners as every 1 percent increase in duty will pull down gross refining margins by USD 0.3 per barrel. Both HPCL and BPCL are down 1-2 percent.

Brent is up around 15 percent this month from January's close of USD 52.99, on course for its biggest monthly gain since May 2009.

INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARKS  rose nearly 2 percent their best single-day advance in six weeks, as blue chips rallied on hopes the government would deliver a budget that increases public investment but sticks broadly to its fiscal deficit targets. The S&P BSE Sensex and CNX Nifty ended 1.65%-1.85% higher each.

Sadbhav Engineering has won the bid for a NHAI project worth Rs459 crore for four-laning a section of National Highway-65 (NH) in Haryana.Four-laning of Ambala-Kaithal section from 56.860 kms to 95.360 kms (length 44.50 kms) in the state of Haryana of NH-65 with paved shoulder under National Highway Development Project (NHDP) on EPC mode.The quoted price is Rs459 crore and the construction period is 2.5 years with a maintenance period of four years.

·Garware Polyester redeems CRPS as OTS
Garware Polyester announced that the company has redeemed 54,46,000-0.01% cumulative redeemable preference shares ( CRPS) of Rs100 each aggregating to Rs54.46 crore issued and allotted to IDBI Bank by paying Rs40 crore as One Time Settlement ( OTS) in full and final payment of the said CRPS.

·Govt plans to hike public investment to drive growth
India can increase public investment to drive growth without borrowing more, a key government report said on Friday, in an indication that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will stick to debt targets in his maiden full-year budget on Saturday. The economic survey, the basis for Jaitley's budget for the fiscal year starting April 1, forecast the economy would grow by 8.1-8.5% under a new calculation method that makes India the world's top-growing big economy.

·India can boost investments, hit borrowing targets
India can increase public investments and still hit its borrowing targets, a finance ministry report said on Friday, in an indication that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will stick to debt targets in his maiden full-year budget on Saturday. DLF promoters asked to pay penalty of Rs85 crore by SEBI for violation of disclosure guidelines for not disclosing certain material information and facts in its IPO document  – negative for DLF (though the company would contest the decision in tribunal).

·State Bank of India gets shareholders nod for raising Rs15,000 cr
State Bank of India (SBI) has received shareholders' approval for raising Rs15,000 crore through a public offer, including a rights issue, to fund business and meet global capital adequacy norms.
The capital raising could happen either in March 2015 or Q1FY16 (as per media reports) and is subject to condition that  governments holding in bank does not fall below 52%.

Sensex, Nifty open strong on Mar series; eyes on Eco survey

The market has opened March series on a positive note. The Nifty is up 45.65 points at 8729.50. The Sensex is up 202.12 points or 0.7 percent at 28948.77. About 375 shares have advanced, 120 shares declined, and 110 shares are unchanged.

Tata Power, L&T, Tata Motors, Sesa Sterlite and SBI are top gainers whle NTPC, ITC and TCS are among the losers in the Sensex.
The Indian rupee opened lower by 11 paise at 61.86 per dollar on Friday against previous day's closing value of 61.75 a dollar.

·RBI permits overdrafts to be treated as priority sector advances
RBI decided that overdrafts extended by banks upto Rs 5,000 in Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) accounts will be eligible for classification under priority sector advances (‘others’ category) as also weaker sections, provided the borrowers household annual income does not exceed Rs60,000 for rural areas and Rs1,20,000 for non-rural areas.

·Glenmark gets USFDA nod to sell generic blood pressure drug
Glenmark Pharmaceuticals today announced receipt of approval from the US health regulator to sell its generic version of AbbVie Inc's blood pressure drug Tarka in the American market.

·DLF's sales booking to cross Rs3000 crore this fiscal
DLF's sales bookings will cross Rs3,000 crore this fiscal helped by better sales during this quarter in its two housing projects at Gurgaon. It has done sales bookings of about Rs1,900 crore in the first nine months of this fiscal.

·Cabinet approves implementation of 15,000 MW for solar projects
The Cabinet approved for implementation of the scheme for setting up of 15,000 MW of grid-connected solar photo voltaic power projects under the National Solar Mission, which will be executed by NTPC.

Sensex, Nifty flat; rail stcks dip ahead of Prabhu's speech

The Sensex is up 27.01 points or at 29035.00 and the Nifty is up 11.75 points at 8779.00. About 371 shares have advanced, 126 shares declined, and 111 shares are unchanged.

Sesa Sterlite, NTPC, ICICI Bank, ONGC and GAIL are top gainers while Infosys, BHEL, Tata Power, Coal India and Dr Reddy's Labs are among the losers in the Sensex.

·Central Bank may review priority sector norms
As per media reports, RBI is set to revise the priority sector lending norms in order to make the targets more achievable for banks. A formal announcement on the issue will be made by Finance Minister during the Budget speech. This would be positive for banking sectors especially private banks (Yes Bank, ICICI bank, Axis Bank etc) as they find relatively difficult to meet PSL norms.

Nifty holds 8800, Midcap gains too; HDFC, RIL, ONGC lead

The Nifty holding 8800-mark supported by banking & financials, oil & gas and metals stocks.

The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 167.87 points to 29172.53 and the 50-share NSE Nifty climbed 51.10 points to 8813.20. The BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gained half a percent too.

About 1261 shares have advanced, 752 shares declined, and 176 shares are unchanged on the BSE.

Shares of HDFC, Reliance Industries, ONGC, Mahindra & Mahindra and Sesa Sterlite topped the buying list, up 1.5-2 percent. Infosys, ICICI Bank and Tata Motors gained 1 percent each. However, ITC, L&T, Sun Pharma, HUL and Hero Motocorp saw marginal loss.

Piramal Fund Management Ltd, a unit of Piramal Enterprises Ltd, will invest up to Rs5000 crore ($803 million) before March 2016 to finance construction projects.
The fund manager said on Tuesday it would invest Rs1100 crore to finance nine construction projects across major Indian cities.

·Budget 2015: To announce incentives for medical devices sector
After relaxing FDI policy for medical devices sector, the government is expected to announce an incentive package, including tax benefits, in the forthcoming Budget for domestic manufacturers.
In its Budget proposals, the Commerce and Industry Ministry has suggested to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to increase import duty on medical devices product, including syringes and pacemaker.

·Indian hotel industry revenues to grow by 9-11% in FY2016

·ABB India marks sales of 1Gw of solar inverters
ABB India today became the first company to reach sales of a cumulative capacity of 1Gw solar inverters. This was marked with the roll out of an order for Tata Power Solar's project for Kiran Energy Solar Power at its manufacturing facility at Nelamangala, about 45 kms from here.ABB India commenced local manufacturing of solar inverters in 2012 and partnered with several customers, the company said at a function, here today.

Sensex, Nifty firm; Coal India, L&T, Wipro early gainers

Nifty Futures Tips

The Sensex is down 8.35 pointsat 28966.7 and the Nifty is up 1.60 points at 8756.55. About 503 shares have advanced, 208 shares declined, and 122 shares are unchanged.

Tata Power, Coal India, Hindalco, L&T and Wipro are top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are Sesa Sterlite, HDFC, Bharti, SBI and Dr Reddy's Labs.

The Indian rupee has opened higher at 62.25 per dollar against previous day's closing value of 62.32 a dollar.

INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARKS   fell for the second straight session on Monday, dragged down by heavyweights such as Reliance Industries and financial stocks, as caution prevailed ahead of the federal budget due on Feb 28. The S&P BSE Sensex and CNX Nifty ended 0.88%-0.89% lower each.

·RBI eases regulations for NBFCs
RBI has eased lending regulations for NBFCs by removing investor limits and the need for collateral guarantees on standard debt transactions.Henceforth the NBFCs would henceforth be able to conduct non-convertible transactions valued at Rs10 million or more unsecured, and such issuance would no longer be limited to 200 investors.This is positive for NBFCs like Bajaj Finance, LIC Housing, Shriram transport, Mahindra Finance etc.

Shares of Monnet Ispat and Energy surged 16% to Rs64.40 on NSE on reports that the company has bagged one coal block in Chhattisgarh.The stock opened at Rs61.30 and touched high of Rs65.35 on NSE. Monnet Ispat was the highest bidder at Rs2,619 (per tonne) for Gare Palma IV/7 (coal mine),' Coal Secretary Anil Swarup tweeted.

·Lanco approaches lenders to reschedule Rs1000 crore debt
Lanco Group has approached lenders to reschedule Rs1,000 crore debt of two of its gas-based power plants in Andhra Pradesh till January 2018.
The company has also sought similar reprieve from lenders for some of its power plants under Reserve Bank of India's 5/25 formula.

Nifty hovers around 8850; Midcap, Smallcap outperform

The market remained firm with the Nifty hovering around 8850. Private banks, FMCG, technology, metals and healthcare stocks while heavyweights like HDFC, Reliance Industries were under pressure.

The Sensex rose 71.45 points to 29302.86
and the Nifty advanced 17.75 points to 8851.35. The broader markets outperformed benchmarks with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices rising 0.4-0.6 percent.

Nearly two shares advanced for every share declining on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Infosys, ICICI Bank, L&T, ITC, TCS, HDFC Bank, HUL, Wipro and Cipla gained
0.3-1 percent. GAIL, Bajaj Auto and Tata Steel fell more than 1 percent followed by HDFC and Reliance Industries with 0.4 percent loss.

INDIAN BENCHMARKS indices registered impressive gains in the week, February 13, 2015, with barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, regaining the psychological 29,000 level. The Sensex gained in four out of five trading sessions. S&P BSE Mid-Cap and S&P BSE Small-Cap indices, both, outperformed the Sensex.

Further, The capital goods grew at 4.1%
while improve in consumers durables compared to previous month (0.7% Vs -4.6% YoY).January 2015 CPI inflation came in 5.11% Vs 4.28% in December 2014 (as per change in base year from 2009-10 to 2011-12), lower than market estimated range of 5.3%- 5.8%.

The INDIAN BENCHMARKS advanced
377.02 points or 1.31% to settle at 29,094.93. The 50-unit CNX Nifty rose 144.45 points or 1.66% to settle at 8,805.50.

GLOBAL MARKET CHASE


ASIAN STOCKS on news of a ceasefire accord in Ukraine, while Sweden's surprise move to cut its main rate into negative territory and hopes of a resolution between debt-strapped Greece and its creditors burnished risk appetite.

U.S. STOCKS futures poised for a higher opening at the Wall Street on Friday.

EUROPEAN STOCKS
rose in early trading with robust growth figures from Germany sending the country's blue-chip DAX index to a record high.

WEEK AHEAD

In the coming week, domestic and global macro economic data, trend in global markets, investment by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) and domestic institutional investors (DIIs), the movement of rupee against the dollar and crude oil price movement will dictate trend on the bourses.

The stock market remains closed on Tuesday, 17 February 2015, on account of Mahashivratri.

On the macro front, the government will unveil data on inflation based on the wholesale price index for January 2015 at 12.10 noon on Monday, 16 February 2015. Euro Zone finance ministers will meet on Monday, 16 February 2015, to discuss Greece's debt crisis. A standoff between Greece and its European creditors on Greece's bailout program eased somewhat after.
